Lady Gaga is adding another major film to her résumé. The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist will appear in The Devil Wears Prada 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2006 fashion classic, while continuing her globe-trotting Mayhem Ball Tour.
Fresh off four sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena, Gaga was recently spotted in Milan, where the sequel is currently filming. The appearance marks her first major movie role since Joker: Folie à Deux and follows her brief cameo in Netflix’s Wednesday.
The original film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, followed Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), a young journalist navigating the cutthroat world of high fashion under the icy gaze of Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the formidable editor of Runway magazine.
The new film reportedly centers on Miranda as she battles to keep her magazine alive in the digital age, while her former assistant Emily (Emily Blunt) now holds power as an executive at a major luxury brand controlling key advertising dollars. Details about Hathaway’s return as Andy remain under wraps.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will reprise their roles, with director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna also returning. New cast members include Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Simone Ashley.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set for release on May 1, 2026, nearly two decades after the original became a cultural phenomenon.
